  28. As I found out a few weeks ago when trying to tune in LTRN, some receivers
  29. have a switch on the back to disable the VCII and pass the signal through
  30. without locking up.  On my system this works great--I get weird scrambled
  31. video on the TV, of course, but I'm able to tune in the audio subcarriers
  32. (which aren't VC encoded, unlike the primary carriers) just fine.
