  19. Actually, according to the papers in Calgary, the PPV isn't going
  20. to ready in time to broadcast the game, they're shooting for a
  21. Feburary start-up.  I kinda dislike the fact the NHL is going to
  22. PPV, because of the fact that almost 80% of the games are covered
  23. already (in Calgary at least), and the other 20% are mostly
  24. weaker games hype-wise.  Inevitably, for PPV to work, they need
  25. to get more of the big matchups consistently for someone to dish
  26. out $9.95, which means the public contract will be severely reduced.

  28. I wonder if they're going to scramble the feeds or not, I imagine
  29. they might not bother, because the service is geared towards
  30. local cable companies.

  32. PS. This isn't the first game on PPV, Minnesota had on a couple
  33. years back when they made it to the Stanley Cup Finals.  Norm
  34. Green made lots of cash off it too, which was the spark for the
  35. "Canadian PPV Hockey League".  (or whatever it's going to be
  36. called)
