  12. Hmmmm.  I'm not sure that this is the best place to post this, but...

  15. I just ran across a laser disc that I hadn't seen before:  The Little Mermaid
  16. in a Japanese pressing.  It's CLV and "multi-lingual" (no sub-titles...the
  17. digital soundtrack is the original English, while the analog(ue) tracks
  18. are in Japanese).  The quality of the transfer is quite fine.

  20. I picked up the next-to-the-last copy for myself, then put a "hold" on the
  21. last one, just in case anyone on the net is interested.  The source is
  22. one of the Portland Tower Record/Video outlets (Gateway...102nd and
  23. N.E. Halsey, for the locals!).  They told me that they had made a "special
  24. buy" directly from Japan; 15 copies of "The Little Mermaid" (oops, add
  25. quotes above, too), and 15 copies of "Cinderella."

  27. They sold out in two days (no copies of "Cinderella" left...I got mine,
  28. and the other two are now gone...sorry!).

  30. If anyone is interested in this LD, send me email immediately.  I can
  31. only hold it a few days without a commitment to purchase it.

  33. I don't know if Tower is going to bring any more Japanese imports in,
  34. but one would certainly hope so.

  36. And given the feeding frenzy over these two...and the high quality of
  37. the discs...the Tower folks admitted to being "impressed."
