  19. Several people have complained about the quality of this disc - which
  20. strikes me as curious, since I recently rented a copy and though it was
  21. quite acceptable.  I found the title in the new release bin and wonder
  22. if it might be a different version.  Unfortunately, I didn't copy down
  23. the catalog number.  I do recall it used the British release title of
  24. 'Scrooge' rather than 'Christmas Carol'.  Anyway, I rented with the
  25. idea of previewing before buying - having seeing so many bad prints
  26. on television. The transfer seemed visually clean without many holes
  27. or scratches.  I'm not sure about the audio, my sound system is poor.

  46. I suppose some films are just unavailable for distribution, but
  47. perhaps other omissions are oversights.  Let me know if you have
  48. other potential releases for Criterion.  Please e-mail to keep
  49. down volume.  If there's enough interest, I'll post the results
  50. to this newsgroup.
