  11. The title says it:  Picked up the above at my local Tower Video tonight.

  13. I was favorably impressed.  Having suffered through my p&s version, I was
  14. immediately struck by a Panavision production with an aspect ratio of
  15. between 2.3 and 2.4 to 1.  The colors were much better than I remembered
  16. on the p&s, while even the ("reprocessed for stereo") digital soundtrack
  17. wasn't too back.

  19. The color was clean; no video noise that I noticed, though some of the
  20. "night time black" looked a little '70-ish...if you know what I mean.

  22. Altogether, a pleasing disc.  If you have the earlier model, tr(ash/ade)
  23. it and get the widescreen edition; it's the same price ($34.95--got it
  24. on sale at $29.95!) as the p&s, and a much better edition.

  26. N.B.:  The "Widescreen Edition" on this Warner issue is written in VERY
  27. small letters on the upper left hand side of the front cover, which is
  28. otherwise identical to the p&s version.  You'll also see the box on the
  29. back side advising you not to panic at the weird black bars...'they're
  30. supposed to be there!'
