- That's a pretty broad brush to paint the industry with. I've had
- several agents over the years that have been quite competant.

- Two semi-answers: 1) No, you cannot get boarding passes through the
- mail unless you get them at the time of ticketing and the ticketing is
- done through the mail. Often this is not possible, since if you're
- being ticketed through the mail, you're probably getting advance
- purchase tickets, and many airlines won't give boarding passes more
- than 30 days in advance of the first leg of an itinerary. Call the
- airline and ask if they have a ticket office near you. Talk to an
- agent and see if they can get you boarding passes. Do you have a
- reserved seat? If so, you can just get your boarding passes at the
- airport on the day of your flight. 2) Fly/Drive offers abound. Call a
- good agent. Call the airline. Call the rental agency. Don't know
- which one? Call them all. Look in the back of the Sunday New York
- Times for other deals.
