  15. A busy weekend in African WC qualifying produced a few shocking results.
  16. Zimbabwe were helped by a goal from (Coventry City's ?) Peter Ndlove to
  17. defeat those masters of boring football (I'm basing this on their Italia
  18. '90 performance) - Egypt. Tunisia held Morocco to a 1 - 1 draw. Gabon 
  19. continue to impress with a home win over Senegal. Upset of the day goes 
  20. to those surprising islanders of Madagascar who vaulted to the top of 
  21. group H with a 2 - 0 victory over Zambia. I am missing results for the
  22. following matches that were supposed to be played:

  25. 20 Dec   Swaziland   -   Liberia 
  26. 20 Dec   Angola      -   Togo 
  27. 20 Dec   Guinea      -   Kenya

  29. As indicated, I believe the Zaire v. Cameroon match was postponed. I 
  30. wouldn't be surprised if the other match in the "political unrest"
  31. division (Swaziland v. Liberia) was also delayed. Politics could also 
  32. have affected the Angola v. Togo match but your guess is as good as 
  33. mine as to the state of affairs in the farce that is group I. Only 
  34. Kenya and Guinea are left in this group but the way things are going
  35. they may have dropped out as well. Any news on these and other 
  36. previously postponed matches would be appreciated. January will be 
  37. a very busy month for African WC qualifying football as everyone
  38. will be playing again on the weekends of January 16/17 and 30/31.
