- Great! The bigger and more diverse the fields the better! I know that you
- can get PMI-3 cheap but they suck gas like crazy.

- Field rates sound fine to me but the requirement of field paint really
- sucks (that's a technical term :-). I understand that that's where a field
- makes a good chunk of it's money but... I'd much rather see you do
- something like just allowing (or just banning) certain kinds of paint.
-
- Velocities seem more dependent on the type of fields. If they promote very
- close in action then 250 seems fine to me. If they are more open then I'd
- say 275 would be a better limit.
-
- Being so close to where I'm at would be a BIG plus since driving to Vallejo
- (or farther) can be a pain.
-
- From my experiences with the current Bay Area indoor arenas, my
- recommendations are as follows:
-
- The current indoor places seem very slimy and dangerous. Good
- upkeep and referees are very important. If you're going to open up shop in
- Oakland than you must make the trip seem safe. If the parking lot is
- inside, and 'guarded' etc. than people will feel safe coming to play. The
- building/location needs to be very easy to find and be well lit from the
- street.
-
- The current indoor places are expensive. I already mentioned my
- pet peeves about paint. I would rather pay a (small) amount more for the
- field fees then be required to by the (expensive) field paint. The cost
- issue is a major factor in getting people to come back and play. I've
- introduced probably 60 people to paintball and only a handfull have played
- more than that first time because the sport costs so damn much.
-
- Good luck,
