  13. John Robinson, was announced that he has been re-hired as football coach at
  14. USC, at a news conference at Heritage Hall this afternoon. He was the top
  15. candidate almost immediately after Former-Head Coach Larry Smith was forced
  16. to submit his resignation earlier this week. Robinson stated," This is a great
  17. privlege and honor to have the opportunity to come back home to SC. I'm looking
  18. forward to get back to work and get the program back to where it's supposed to
  19. be".

  21. Robinson who joined the SC family as a assistant coach under John McKay in 1960
  22. was head coach previously for the Trojans from 1976-1982 before taking an 
  23. exexcutive position at the University for a year before joining the LA Rams.
  24. Robinson is the last coach at SC that has beat Notre Dame & UCLA, won a Rose
  25. Bowl and won a National Title in the same year (1978). Robinson's last victory
  26. at SC was a victory over Notre Dame in '82 and haven't beaten them since.

  34. PS: Trojan Wide-Receiver Johnnie Morton also announced today that he will skip
  35.     this years NFL draft and will remain at SC for his senior year. Willie
  36.     McGinest is expected to announce his decision tommorrow. Stay tuned....
