  29. You are correct Jim, I have never heard you say these things.  But many of
  30. the other PAC-10/UDub fans have been going on and on about it.  We kept
  31. hearing the "undeniably the best conference in the nation" claims...  It was
  32. brought up as evidence their bowl record last year...  Also claiming some other
  33. conferences (notably the BigTen) have been overrated, and showed it based on
  34. poor bowl performances..  And, you are right, based on their early 
  35. non-conference records, and their good overall seasons, you would have to say
  36. that the PAC-10 was one of the top conferences this season.  But, with all
  37. the hype of them being the "undeniably best conference" coming from the net,
  38. and even from the TV people and such, their pathetic bowl performance really
  39. hurts them.  And, because they didn't get the respect their supposed rankings
  40. would indicate (based on records and such, some teams should have gotten better
  41. bowl bids...) they got stuck with some seemingly large mismatches...  Such
  42. as USC-Fresno State, Arizona-Baylor, etc..  Games where the PAC-10 teams were
  43. big favorites...  I think I remember that the PAC-10 was heavily favored in
  44. 4 of it's games, and slightly favored in the rest... Coming away with only
  45. 2 wins, and one of them just BARELY against a relatively weak opponent, it
  46. doesn't bode well for respect..

  48. So, anyway... One of the best... yes... The Best???  Not even...  I think
  49. the SEC has that title wrapped up pretty easily...
