- I don't think that Viv Richards is a good example: the guy defended
- by attacking. And this _usually_ worked, given his immense talent.
- But there were several times when, as captain of WI, he got out to
- the "airy" big shot.... That was the way he played...

- Face it... every stroke has some inherent risks in it. And the
- batsman _is_ facing a guy on the other end trying to dismiss him.
- Too often, we ignore the fact that the batter is not working in a
- vacuum; we should remember that there is a thing called good
- bowling.

- The argument of "murdering" a bad ball is fallacious: if you "kill"
- the bad ball, you are likely to GET killed. And the great batsmen
- are those who can make the GOOD ball look bad, which is often their
- undoing...
