- Thermite is what was supposedly used in that famous old MIT fraternity prank
- wherein a streetcar was welded to its rails at the stop in front of 77 Massa-
- chusetts Avenue (and not in Kendall Square subway station, as some revision-
- ists have suggested). The prank cannot be repeated, as the line was down-
- graded to trolley busses (and later, alas, to diesel busses). :^|
