- I haven't been following this closely, but as far as I know from living
- in Dallas and reading the newspapers:

- a) The French TGV system was selected over the German system.

- b) The plans are stalled now waiting for the necessary private money to
- allow construction to begin.

- c) As an aside, Southwest Airlines, which flies between the major
- cities that would be served, has been fighting the idea with everything
- they can think of. It makes you think that they must believe it will
- be tough competition for them. ;-)
