  35. Most car rental companies ( large and small ) have offices in or near 
  36. most major downtown areas. they will come to you, whether you are at 
  37. the amtrak station or where ever you might be, as long as you are not
  38. too far away. I did rent a car when I recently traveled to the amtrak 
  39. station in los angeles, but neglected to plan ahead. it was a sunday
  40. night so I had to take a cab to the hotel, and rent the car on monday 
  41. morning. I have also used avis at philidelphia's 30th street station
  42. and found having the rental agency at the station a little more handy
  43. than having the rental agency off-site. remember, however, not all
  44. rental companies have on-site offices at airports also.
