- In article 20441, Mike Schuster described a procedure to
- adjust the bfo on 2010. I followed the procedure, more
- for adjusting the switch-over point for sync detection,
- which Mike said is done by adjusting the same pot as well.
- Well, the blue pot next to the sync unit box certainly
- is for bfo adjustment, but it does not affect the switch-over
- point. To adjust frequency(hence switch-over point), you
- have to do one of two things. One place is inside the
- sync unit box, there is a screw; another place is the other
- blue pot farther away from the sync unit box, which Mike
- wonder what it is for. The label near the pot says:"vtz adj"
- and the second line says"u/l". The pot is easy to adjust
- than the screw in the sync unit, of course.
- The result of the adjustment is obvious, but never accurate
- and stable enough to be satisfactory. The bfo never sounds
- completely natural and the set's frequency drifted for 100 hz
- not long after I did the adjustment. Well, that can't be
- helped.
- But if anybody is interested in adjusting either the
- frequency or bfo for 2010, the whole process is quite simple,
- thanks to Mike's daring trial initially.
