- I sometimes tune the Maritime USB channels (mostly 8720-8812, 4423 and
- sometimes up in the 13077 band) and am confused why WOM has a *much*
- stronger signal than WOO. WOM is down in Florida but WOO and my listening
- post are both in New Jersey.
-
- I'd guess I'm about 90-100 miles from WOO. Could I be in that zone before
- the first skip? An article in Popular Communications mentioned that WOM
- transmitters are 10kw. Does anyone know about WOO? Can anyone provide
- addresses for WOM and/or WOO?
-
- WOM is busy every night with traffic home from military ships doing the
- Operation Restore Hope thing. The guys (haven't heard any women calling
- yet) seem to get free 3 minute calls over AT&T. East coasters can twirl
- the dial through 8720-8812 (channel spacing is 3 Khz) between 0000 and 0500
- UTC to join the fun...
