- The sony 2010 is generally considered an excellent portable world
- band radio. I dont think there are any major problems with it except
- for one: The wide filter. Its about 12 khz wide. This results in
- a 5 khz heterodyne alot of the time. (very irritating). Replacement
- filters are available, exact fits, just under 10 khz wide. The replacement
- filters are from a third party and you solder them in yourself or pay
- someone else to do it for you.
-
- The sw55 is also an excellent reciever. It shouldnt have the filter problem
- as they say the wide filter is 8 khz wide. The sw55 does not have synchro
- detection like the 2010 although the sw55 is more expensive.
-
-
- the sw77 is the most expensive of the 3. I dont know very much about it
- except for it has synchro detect and a text-readout (alpha numeric)
- of whatever station you are set on. (e.g. R.JAPAN) Presumably it comes
- programed with the more popular stations and you can put your own in
- too.
