- Many posters to this newsgroup (and I suppose many newsgroups) ask
- that replies be e-mailed and that they (may) summarize to the group.
- I would like to ask readers of rec.radio.broadcasting to consider
- whether to post or e-mail replies to articles here.
-
- The guideline I would ask you to follow (naturally you are all free
- to do what you please :-) ) is this...
-
- E-mail the answer if...
-
- 1) If a question asked is of a very personal nature for which the answer
- would be of limited interest to the group.
-
- 2) The post is a solicitation to buy or sell something.
-
- 3) The original post was a marginal topic that is not generally
- discussed in r.r.b/Internet Radio Journal.
-
- 4) The post is a request to re-send info recently posted in the group.
-
- 5) Your reply is part of an on-going personal discussion of a thread
- from the group.
-
- ------------------------------
-
- Please consider posting your reply if ...
-
- 1) Your answer may be of interest to others in the readership, who may
- not have posted, but who may have similar questions.
-
- 2) Your answer is potentially FAQ material (we are still trying to
- create a FAQ for r.r.b).
-
- Even if the poster requests e-mail replies, please try to consider
- whether the content of your message is of potential group interest,
- and if it is, please post it to the group. You can always e-mail to
- the poster and include the address 'rrb@airwaves.chi.il.us' in your
- Cc: (carbon copy) or Bcc: (Blind carbon copy) headers when you mail.
- If you use the elm mailer, make an alias for rrb to make this easier.
-
- Since this is a public forum, and quite often questions asked by one
- reader are of interest to many in the field, it is better to post to
- all of us, since we can all benefit from information. Besides it
- makes for a lively and involving group.
-
- In any event, when in doubt, post it :-).
-
- Thanks to all and may the Holidays be joyous and profitable to you and yours.
