- I agree with the transceiver advice, but not the advice about antennas.
- Novices should not spend a lot of money on either rigs or antennas
- right away. I recommend a dipole fed with ladder line and an
- antenna tuner. This is an inexpensive, easy-to-install antenna that
- will work on 80m through 10m. Once you get your feet wet, and once you
- have some experience operating and know what your interests are, you can move
- up to the more expensive antennas. Don't buy a beam right away: you
- may find that you don't have much interest in HF.
