- Here in Kitchener, we have a repeater based around an ACC RC-85
- controller. One of its problems, among other things, is that it seems to
- only accept '*' entries from about 40% of the repeater users. This makes
- it AWEFULLY hard to make autopatch calls, including 911. At first I
- thought it was just me, but I have found out differently in the mean time.
- I have also performed tests on repeaters all over southern Ontario and the
- northern US (during inversions) and EVERY repeater except this one works
- flawlessly. Anyone would conclude that there is something wrong with our
- repeater...except the person delegated to maintain it. He feels that
- everyone's radio is wrong.
-
- Anyways, down to the point. At our next club meeting (Jan 4), we
- all have the chance to test our DTMF deviation with an IFR. As anyone who
- has purchased the 560 knows, no schematic is supplied unless you purchase a
- service manual. I am interested in finding out what pot internally adjusts
- the DTMF deviation from someone who owns such a service manual. I have not
- yet decided whether I will actually do anything to my rig as all evidence
- shows that our repeater has the problem, not my radio, but the information
- would be apprecaited. E-mail or post. (E-mail preferred for speed).
-
- Thanks in advance and Happy new Year,
-
