- I thought that others might be interested in using this data on-line
- (via packet). My DOSGATE system (remember Dave, this is a DOSGATE system,
- not a "BBS") is accessable from a fairly wide area (I know that there are
- regular users of the system from New York to Maine and sometimes even Canada).
- So I am providing access information to the net....
-
- First, to connect to my DOSGATE system:
-
- Connect into your local packet network node. Eventually you need to get
- into the 'NEDA' network of nodes. Once into the 'NEDA' (North East Data Assoc.)
- nodes, connect to node WNDHM1.
- Once connected to WNDHM1, issue the command to connect to NM1D-2 (note that
- the '-2' is IMPORTANT!!): C NM1D-2
- You should then be connected to my DOSGATE system and receive a prompt
- similar to "DOSGATE-C:>". At this prompt type REPEATER XXXX, where XXXX is
- the frequency, town or callsign of the repeater that you are looking for.
- This is actually a simple 'grep', so you can search for just about anything.
- Just remember that the data file only contains New England data. This should
- be handy for anyone travelling through the area.
-
- If you need additional help, type HELP at the DOSGATE prompt. There are
- several other services available on this DOSGATE system, such as:
-
- AutoCall - Online usa callsign database
- SeeSats - Real time satelite tracking information
- AutoExam - Online VE type amateur exams from Novice to Extra
- CIBBS - Common interest BBS
- MAIL - Simple email system (non-autoforwarding)
- GAMES - Several adventure style games that can be played on line
-
- Remember that this system is usable from anywhere in the packet network. You
- do NOT need any special type of terminal, computer, or software to make
- use of this system.
-
- If you can't gain access into my DOSGATE system from your area, why not place
- a DOSGATE system on the air to serve your area? The software is available at
- no-charge for amatuer on-the-air uses, contact me for information.
-
- Many thanks to Dave for supplying the most up-to-date repeater data that
- I have ever come across.
