- The first time I did E-6 I used a flute pan as a water bath, in the
- bathroom sink with towels underneath it to keep it horizontal. It
- wouldn't reach under the tap, though, so I used a paper cup with a
- hole in it, which I stuck under the tap, the water emerging from the
- hole ran into the flute pan. I made sure the lowest corner was one of
- the two furthest away from the tap. The chemicals were placed in three
- (Hobby-Pac E-6 is only three steps) beakers (same as I used for B&W,
- thoroughly washed and dried) sitting in the flute pan. The three
- beakers and the tank (regular old Paterson two-roll, although I used
- it for one roll of 120) just barely fit.
-
- To speed up the initial warming of the chemicals, just put lids
- over the beakers. This setup was *very* inexpensive, and worked like a
- charm -- just make sure your wife isn't taking a shower while you're
- doing the first developer... :-) In general, with just a little care
- you can get very consistent results with nary any investment at all.
- It's just not terribly convenient -- if you think it's great fun to do
- your own color development, you'll soon be saving for a processor.
