- If you can't read the medium you can't transfer the contents.
- Think about it. How many persons are willing to go through the trouble
- of locating an archaic CD-ROM reader, when they find an old PhotoCD in
- the attic of their great grandfathers old house? A hundred years from
- now CD-ROMs (and PhotoCDs of course) certainly won't be the most
- common form of digital storage, or even common at all. Something
- better will always come along and replace the latest digital storage
- technique. If everybody remembers to transfer all their bits in time,
- then all is well, but that will not happen.
-
- When my great grandchildren find my prints they can look at them right
- away.
