- My objective is to produce negatives with finer grain than the ASA 100
- films I have learned to work with: FP4 and T-MAX.
-
- Browsing through a Kodak publication, it looked to me that Tech Pan has the
- potential for the finest grain.
-
- I found myself out of film when preparing for a shoot last weekend, so I
- bought 2 rolls of TP and exposed 1 at ASA 25 as advised for pictorial
- applications.
-
- The seller made a point about TP being originally intended for microfilm
- use, and that it has very high contrast characteristics. Beyond this, it
- appears that my (limited) experience in processing will be adequate for TP
- using Technidol and following intructions for temp and timing.
-
- What I want is to see if I can approach the look of medium format with
- my 35mm equipment.
-
- Any of you grizzled veterans have basic advice? Dilution formulae for grain
- enhancement? Other emulsions? Is this naive?
