- I got my wife one of those tiny Olympus 35mm automatics, thinking that as
- it was so small it would be more likely to be in her pocket than in the
- checked baggage, etc. It has this "red-eye" eliminator which doesn't eliminate
- red-eye but *does* ensure that any action shot taken with the (automatic) flash
- is totally missed, since the pre-exposure flashes to contract the subject's
- pupils take at least half a second.

- Can this feature be disabled somehow? (I must confess to not reading the manual
- recently, but there aren't too many controls on the thing...)
