- I have found that dogs (at least our golden) can handle cold weather
- much better it there _is_ snow on the ground. The snow acts as an
- insulator to their feet when they are standing. When I walk
- our dog on the street and its less than 5 or 10 F, she does the
- paw lift thing. Normally she will do it for the first few minutes
- of the walk but after she gets going, she's fine. Granted, goldens
- have lots of fur in their toes so they may be more resilant in the
- cold.
-
- BTW, I've watched her left one front and the opposite back paw
- in the back yard and manage to balance like that for a few seconds.
- Amazing dog tricks.
