- Ignore your dog when you come in. Simply ignore him. It will
- take some time (possibly short) for the dog to get the hint that
- the behavior will not be rewarded but it will happen.

- Take a look at Don't Shoot the Dog by Karen Pryor. She says to
- ignore behavior that you don't want to encourage. I've tried
- her methods with an 8 yr old poodle I adopted from my shelter
- about nine months ago. Without coercion, he's just a changed
- dog.
