- Why is your bitch pet quality? It will make a difference to dog owners
- who are responsible breeders as her pups will reflect the dog as well. Is
- she actually suitable to be bred?
-
- : I am of course interested in good confirmation and markings. Especially that
- : the male have a full white collar, wide chest, and white on his front legs.
- : Personality is also very important because most of the interest in this litter

- Why are you planning on breeding? Are you prepared for the possible
- complications of whelping? Small breeds are often prone to problems. Do
- you know what you might be facing? Have you researched genetic problems
- that you should watch out for in both partners? Are you prepared for the
- possibility of a temperament change, maybe permanantly, in your bitch?
- Are you prepared for the low, but not nonexsistant chance of losing your
- friend in whelp?
-
- : For those interested, this female weighs about 13 lbs, has a full white
- : collar, and four white feet. She also has a screw tail and a great
- : personality (IMHO).
-
- What kind of dogs are in her pedigree? What are possible undesireable
- traits could she be carrying? If you breed you need to choose a dog for
- traits that will blend well with the bitch, improving on any faults while
- not introducing others. What she looks like is only part of the story;
- learning about the dogs in her pedigree tells more of it.
-
- The above was not meant as a flame, only to point out some of the
- realities of breeding.

- AKC registered means ONLY that the dog's (alleged) pedegree is on file
- with the American Kennel Club. This means that the dog's sire, dam and
- x-generations of its ancestors were registered with AKC. It does NOT
- denote that the dog is of any given quality or that it is suitable to be
- bred, shown or anything else. It does mean that the proper forms were
- filled out and sent in on time with the proper payment.
