- What I used to start with was a penny can (well, actually a sock
- full of pinto beans) that I would throw to the floor to get their
- attention and say off! After a very short while they got the idea.
- What I do with one of my males (the first one I got) was to teach
- his that when I first got home he should sit, I would pet him on the
- head, then I give the command 'tummies' (I know, sounds stupid telling
- a Rottie 'tummies') and he lays on his back while I rub him tummie.
- This was the only way I could get him to fully calm down and it still
- works.
