  11. Dante and I got something neat for Christmas! I often walk him off leash in
  12. safe fields after dark, and though he stays nearby and comes when called, I
  13. often loose track of where he is. I've often wished there was a better way of
  14. keeping track of him and was considering building some sort of light to
  15. attach to his collar.

  17. The other day I found out that somebody has already made one! It's called
  18. Protect a Pet Flashing Collar and has 6 little red lights that run on 4
  19. button cells. One set of batteries is good for 48 hours of continuous
  20. use...which means about 90 nighttime walks for Dante and I. It's water
  21. resistant.

  23. I think it is meant to make you and your dog more visible when crossing
  24. streets at night, but I seriously doubt it would be of much use for that...as
  25. a matter of fact the first night I used it I once again was nearly hit by a
  26. guy turning left and not paying attention...good thing I always do!

  28. For my purpose it's great! Dante probably gets 200 feet from me at most and I
  29. can see those little lights even though his body is totally invisible...it
  30. means I don't need to call him continuously to find out where he is. I got
  31. mine at a pet supply store, but I've seen them offered by mail order too.
