- If he's lagging 'cos he's distracted and inatentive, a prong might help. If
- he's lagging 'cos he's unmotivated, afraid of being stepped on, afraid of
- being corrected, lacking in confidence or confused about the proper position,
- harsher corrections will probably make it worse. What I would do in the
- second case is show him the proper position by holding him there with a short
- leash until he knows where you want him and praising him LOTS when he is in
- the correct place. If he needs motivation, a toy or food or playing with the
- leash might help teach him that being in the right place is fun.
