  12. Our 3 cats are not declawed and never will be, but we do clip their
  13. claws regularly.  If you don't want to declaw your cats then this
  14. will help (unless you already do and still have problems!).  If
  15. you haven't done this it will probably be hard at first -- cats
  16. don't seem to like this too much at first.  We combine it with alot
  17. of petting and treats -- the treats come at the end or you get a
  18. cat with one thing on its mind!  Clipping is (for me -- not for 
  19. everyone) a relatively easy alternative to declawing, but it doesn't
  20. guarantee that the cats won't claw at all, just that they can do
  21. less damage.  Mine solved this problem by learning to eat the 
  22. furniture.
