  13. It has never been clear to me, even after fighting in more than one Midrealm
  14. Crown Tournament, whether its invitational nature is intended to 1.
  15. keep complete x-heads out from under crowns; 2. make for a more competitive
  16. tournament; or 3. make sure that all competitors share a certain
  17. throne-worthiness.

  19. In my experience it does none of the above.

  21. To those who have said that Crown Tournaments are the apogee of the tournament,
  22. I can only say that you must have been very fortunate in your choice
  23. of crown tournaments to fight in.  In my experience, crown tournament
  24. bouts are characterised by appalling conservatism (occasionally
  25. bordering on cowardice), rhino-hiding even from people of normally
  26. good standards, arrogant marshalling, and lack of the jolly good
  27. fellowship that makes fighting fun.
