  16. Yup!  I used to know a man who'd had polio as a child
  17. and therefore operated with a crutch/brace assembly
  18. but who had some advanced esoteric experience in one
  19. of the bare-hands martial arts.  I considered the stories
  20. about him to be so much urban folklore until he dealt
  21. calmly--almost casually--with an attempted mugging (we
  22. being the muggees) in NYC one dark night...
