  22. I would *love* to see this done. Perhaps a separate authorization
  23. process, more rigid, and a different name.

  25. It would be lovely to be able to practice *real* combat.

  27. BTW, last thursday I took some old worn-out boiled leather armour
  28. (a pauldron set to be specific), set it up on a post, and
  29. had one of the strongest heavy fighters I know swing at it with
  30. a real sword. Of 5 blows, all of which would have been termed
  31. 'excessive' in force, only one completely cut the leather.

  33. The sword was a properly tempered 2.75lb broadsword. The fighter
  34. was a man with ten years of experience, who has been our baronial
  35. champion 4 times.
