- I'm lost in General MIDI understanding. I know that GS means that every
- program number has its own fixed interpretation, so all GS instruments
- will play the given sequence in a same way. But what then is General
- MIDI? I thought that it means grouping of voices, e.g. program numbers
- from 0 to 7 correspond to piano voices, 8 to 15 - chromatic percussion,
- and there's no settings inside each group. But the voice list inside
- Windows MIDI Mapper shows me different settings for each program number,
- and these settings are exactly the voices of my GS SoundCanvas module!
- What does it mean? And what Roland's phrase "GS is a superset of General
- MIDI" could mean? Any comments are highly appreciated.

- Best regards
