- I know your post was mainly questioning "should dealers assure that their
- products will perform as advertised", but I just wanted to comment that the
- Peavey SP will indeed work with SCSI/SMIDI and SDS. I've used an SP with v1.1
- ROMS for several months doing SDS transfers to and from a Mac, from a Peavey SX
- and from a Peavey DPM3se+. I can download SDS files from bulletin boards and
- send them via sysex from the Mac to the SP via MIDI.
-
- I just recently purchased Alchemy v2.6 and the SCSI upgrade for the Peavey SX
- A->D module. I now have a SCSI chain that looks like this:
- Mac<->Harddrive<->SP<->SX. It works great - worlds better than SDS. The
- Alchemy manual indicates that v1.1 ROMs won't receive stereo samples via SMIDI,
- so I'm upgrading my SP (about a year old) to v1.2 now. If your still interested
- in the Peavey product, I hope that helps a little.
