  19.    I have a Korg PolySix that has had an "official" Korg MIDI upgrade done
  20. to it.  I think this was purchased and installed back in 1987 or so.  At the
  21. time I bought it, installation cost was included in the price so I did not
  22. install the upgrade myself.  The MIDI implementation for it is pretty
  23. thorough including MIDI control of almost, if not every control on the
  24. panel.  The upgrade consisted of a new motherboard and back panel (to
  25. include the MIDI in/out/thru connectors).  After the installation, the
  26. PolySix can act as a MIDI sound source and/or as a MIDI keyboard.  (It has
  27. local on/off control added so you can decide whether to trigger PolySix
  28. sounds or not.)

  30.    Unfortunately, not much computer software ever came out that supported
  31. this upgrade.  But, there's enough documentation that came with the kit that
  32. you could write your own editor/librarian.  Maybe someday, I'll actually get
  33. to write one myself (since I'm started designing it many times but never
  34. gotten around to finishing the coding).

  37. lying around that they'd sell you.
