- I agree with most of the follow-ups to this post, i.e. early UB40 is
- excellent, but they lost their touch in later albums.
-
- My personal favorite is the UB40 Live album (1982), this highlights
- their first couple of albums, and anyone who's seen UB40 live will agree
- they put on an excellent show. Another good album is the UB40 1980-1983
- greatest hits album, this has most of the studio versions of the songs
- on the live album. Their later, original material, didn't pack the same
- punch as this early stuff. However, the two Labour of Love albums are
- excellent tributes to the originals.
-
- Along this same thread, has anyone seen/heard the twelve inch version of
- "Maybe Tomorrow"? I've heard it a couple of times on a local radio
- station, but have never found it in the record bins. It has the
- extended toasting of Astro, which isn't the version included on the
- UK-only album "The Best of UB40".
-
- Also, glad to see the formation of this group.
-
- Cheers,
-
- Dan
