  26. About two hours ago, I successfully proposed to my
  27. girlfriend/roomate of three years, Kristen of Lemuria, on the
  28. very steps upon which I met her three and a half years ago.  She
  29. had fussed about walking out in the freezing cold, but I had been
  30. hiding the ring for two weeks (an oval blue topaz surrounded by
  31. diamonds), and after hearing Diamond Girl thursday night, just
  32. couldn
  33. 't wait anylonger.

  35. BTW, the descriptions of NYE seem extremely lacking.  To begin
  36. with, Diamond Girl is by Seals and Crofts, which puts it at about
  37. the same chart-time as all the other covers Phish do (from GTBT
  38. to Ride Captain Ride).

  42. The famous mockingbird was someone in a costume on a harness,
  43. lifted high above the stage for the entire song.

  45. The Dude of Life pushed in a lawnmower, continuing this odd
  46. obsession with 12-year-old-boyness, and, as with the famous
  47. mockingbird, being none afraid to fly straight in the face of the
  48. People magazine crap-commentary of calling them characterized by
  49. too much "jokiness".

  51. The encore was cool for a 3-set extravaganza after a long week
  52. after a short break, but, hey!  We heard both Fire and Carolina
  53. as encores earlier in the week.  It seems apparent, as well from
  54. the repitions of songs (compare 12-28-92 to 11-25-92, or the
  55. first set of 12-31-92  to 12-28&29-92), that there may be
  56. CONSCIOUS efforts to discourage touring.  (BTW, I saw three
  57. people get kicked out for fake tickets.)

  59. Also, why no fanfare over the 12-29-92 Bike?  It was psychotic,
  60. and introduced Jon's new cloak ("I've got a cloak, its a bit of a
  61. joke....)
