- Just wondering exactly what aspects of the net were difficult for you to
- deal with -- if something doesn't seem right to you, please post! I had
- my own questions about the direction the net seemed to be headed in and
- wrote about it, but from the response I got the impression that I was in
- the minority by feeling that as a community we might want to consider some
- guidelines for what would be appropriate to submit to the net at large (i.e.,
- is it responsible for one person to command the attention of thousands of
- people all over the world in order to ask for one tape?). Anyway, as I
- said, I came to the conclusion that others did not share my opinion and
- I decided to stop worrying about it :-). But I'm still very interested in
- what other people have to say regarding keeping this community viable.

-
- Well, here are the best counts I can come up with right now: there are
- currently about 500 folks receiving the digest, down from about 600 two
- weeks ago (i.e., 100 people suspended reception for the holidays). I have
- a feeling, though, that a lot of people who aren't currently reading didn't
- bother to suspend their subscriptions, so the number of digestified
- participants is most likely currently significantly fewer than 500.
-
- According to the propagation & readership reports available in news.lists,
- worldwide readership of rec.music.phish is estimated at 13,000 (up from
- 9,000 last month). I think that that is also a little higher than the
- number of folks actually reading/participating, but it does give us a
- vague idea of where we're at.
