- I put on headphones when I go walking, and like to listen to
- real powerful, rhythmic, unstoppable-feeling stuff. Sounds that work
- for me mostly fall under the new age heading, though I've had bad luck
- buying in this realm because most new age music is too airy and mellow
- for me. The examples will best illustrate.
- I'm looking for recommendations, so if anyone knows of more
- music of this variety, please let me know!
-
- 1812 overture, ride of the valkries, night on bald mountain, etc.
- Outback, especially _Dance the Devil Away_
- some by Vangelis, eg 'Pulstar' (on _Albedo 0.39_)
- 'Dragon' (on _China_, I think)
- end titles to Bladerunner (on _Themes_)
- Tomita, _Pictures at an Exhibition_ (parts)
- most of the soundtrack to _Akira_, by Geinoh Yamashirogumi
- Simon&Garfunkel, 'Cecilia' and 'The Boxer'
- some by Art of Noise, eg 'Roller1' (on _In No Sense? Nonsense!_)
- 'Back to Back' (on _Below the Waste_)
-
- 'Back to Back' is the ultimate in walking music - I highly recommend it.
