  27. With some minor exceptions all composers belong to either BMI or ASCAP.
  28.  You can write to either BMI or ASCAP and they will forward the postal
  29. mail to the composer.  They will not give you their mailing address
  30. or phone number but they will forward the mail as part of their writer
  31. relations.  For example, I am a member of BMI as writer and publisher.
  32. If you didn't have any other way to reach me you could address the
  33. following as such:
  34.         David A. Roth
  35.         c/o Writer Relations
  36.         BMI
  37.         320 West 57th Street
  38.         New York, NY 10019

  40. BMI has many office just as ASCAP does and you could also call BMI
  41. in NY at (212) 586-2000 and ask if the composer you are trying to
  42. write to care of Writer Relations is a member of BMI or not.  If they
  43. are not a member of BMI chances are they are a member of ASCAP so
  44. you could write to them in care of ASCAP's Writer Relations.  I don't
  45. have ASCAP's phone number and address off hand so you will have to
  46. find that out yourself.  They also have offices in LA and NY as BMI
  47. do so a call to directory info. should be helpful.

  49. The addresses they will forward the mail to are your best way to contact
  50. a composer since it is the same address where their royality checks are
  51. sent.
