-
- I bought it already having the regular version of the CD and like it a lot.
- As you probably already noticed, it contains one extra track: "Private Goes
- Public" (1:56) ... and yes, it does contain a lot of photos and stuff inside.
- If you notice in the booklet that comes with the regular version that the
- lyrics are done in some sort of old style poster type design with a zillion
- fonts inteweaved throughout, this version carries that theme further with
- more photos.
-
- A more detailed description .. the whole thing comes in this hard cover
- bound "book" with Suzanne Vega 1992 appearing (though obviously not)
- handwritten on the cover.
-
- The IFC contains a miniaturized customer copy of the A&M records playlist
- for the CD with some technical credits below. Page 1 shows a color picture of
- Suzanne wearing the outfit on the back of the regular CD's booklet in a
- different pose with the guy with the megaphone found elsewhere in the regular
- booklet. She's standing with hands in pockets .. he's in the background.
- The caption is the album title featuring Blood makes Noise and In Liverpool.
- Pages 2 & 3 are lyrics for "Rock in this Pocket", "Blood Makes Noise" and
- "In Liverpool" in about 12 different fonts.
- Page 4 is a B&W photo of Suzanne just sitting on something, legs crossed,
- looking into the camera .. slightly blurred in the bottom. Made to look
- like an old photograph found in a photo album. Pages 5-8 are consumed by
- handwritten "Diary"-ish text about nothing really in particular .. its
- written on some sort of opaque paper causing pages 5 and 8 to be consumed
- by the reverse text of pages 6 & 7. Page 9 shows a neck-down shot of a man
- holding a rather large fish (not sure of the point of that)...Pages 10-12
- are lyrics for "99.9F", "Blood Sings", and "Fat Man & Dancing Girl" in several
- dozen other fonts. Page 13 contains a yellowed-color photo of another pose
- of all the people in the regular booklet's picture. Suzanne has basically
- the same pose except that she's standing. Page 14 contains a B&W 20's-ish photo
- of a bunch of people playing instruments. Above it is a caption that reads
- "Helen, Suzanne, & Bruce" ... I think its meant more for humor because
- Suzanne is clearly not in it. Pages 15-18 are consumed by another
- translucent paper thing on pages 16-17 of a newspaper article about the
- "Billy Purl Co.", a miniatured show poster, photograph, and a 99.9 logo slapped
- over the top of it all. Page 18 contains 3 B&W photos .. one of which is
- Suzanne sitting with guitar on lap, the other two appear as just old pictures.
- Pages 19-22 are lyrics for "(If you were) in my movie", "As a child", "Bad
- wisdom", "When heroes goes down", "As Girls Go", "Song of Sand", and "Private
- goes Public". Page 23 is an art direction credit, Page 24 contains the CD.
- I don't know what the IBC is supposed to be.
-
- All the lyric pages are on paper made to look really old (not texture wise)
- just color wise. (Paper is very yellow).
-
- I hope this description is detailed enough for you ... Unless you are
- really into Suzanne Vega and want the extra track or collect a lot of really
- cool looking CD's or have a lot of money, I can't really see shelling out
- the $20+ (I paid $24.95) for this CD ... but if you do get it and can get
- rid of your old one I recommend it.
