  21. There's a previous recording of this on GlobeStyle's *Madagascar
  22. Two: Popular Music of Madagascar* from 1986.  I vacillate between
  23. liking that one better and liking this one better, usually depending
  24. on how I feel about Henry Kaiser's contributions at any given
  25. moment.  I must say that this contains one of the best-integrated 
  26. examples of his "flurry of notes" technique that I've heard.  Very
  27. subtle and entirely in keeping with the tone of the song.  But
  28. Kaiser is not the reason to hear this.

  30. I took this to a Christmas party a couple of weeks ago and it was a
  31. big hit with everyone there, none of whom were afficianados.  Great
  32. stuff.  I'm having a hard time waiting for the next four albums in
  33. the series.  Any idea when Shanachie is planning on releasing them?

  35. Incidentally, Tarika Sammy has an album of their own out this year
  36. on Rogue in the U.K. and Green Linnet in the U.S.  Has anyone heard
  37. this?  I understand they recorded it when they were in England to
  38. perform at the WOMAD festival in Bath this past summer.
