  17. I'm probably going to regret this, but --

  19. In the interest of NetSanity, I'm volunteering to collect your
  20. favorite singles of 1992.  The idea is that people will send
  21. them to me rather than posting a flood of context-less lists
  22. which will create the usual massive increase in bandwith along
  23. with a commensurate flood of postings from the usual suspects
  24. decrying the abuse of aforesaid bandwidth :-)

  26. Joseph Geigel already provides a similar service with his
  27. end of the year album poll; I thought it would be nice
  28. if there were a way to compile opinions on singles as well.
  29.  
  30. What I'm asking is for everyone who cares to send me a list
  31. of your five favorite "singles" for the year 1992.  I'm going
  32. to use a fairly liberal definition of single here -- the track
  33. need not have ever been released on a 7", 12", cassette or 
  34. CD single to qualify -- tracks that have been promoted have 
  35. been promoted as a featured track from the album (e.g
  36. as a so-called "emphasis cut" on an AOR record) are acceptable.
  37. I'd also like you to provide a little (emphasis on little) 
  38. backround for your choices -- a list of cuts with a couple of
  39. sentences on the reasons for your choice would be nice.
  40. I'm also using a pretty liberal definition of 1992 -- singles
  41. from 1991 that you didn't hear until 1992 are OK as well.

  52. little optimistic.
