- And from what I can tell, Greg, "Mom's" (the title cut) is all built of from
- little bits, pieces, fragments..whatever you wanna call what it is that
- Stone smashes his sources into...of Paul Simon's "Graceland". There's a few
- horn riffs, some accordion bits, and some of the sounds in general that
- sound _distinctly_ like he played cut-up with that album.
- Oh, if you can get your mitts on it and _want_ some raucous Carl
- Stone music, try and get a copy of "Hop Ken". It's the evil, anti-"Shing Kee".
- In _this_ piece, Stone uses _only_ a copy of Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an
- Exhibition" (the Ravel orchestration), and it sounds like some marching
- band from hell gone totally _nutz_!!! When I heard this on some NPR program
- I forget the name of a few years ago, I nearly sent my car into the ditch
- because I was laughing so hard while driving! Not on any disc _I_ know, but
- if you try the contact address in the liner notes to _Mom's_, you might
- luck out...
