  29.     But the above-mentioned extrapolated it to 
  30. music in general. That's what the problem is about. Comparing
  31. Ogre to, let's say, Mariah Carey** is not possible because both
  32. have different agenda's. Mariah is a money hungry, opportunistic
  33. dealer of trite cliches who's sole means of support is a having
  34. a fuckable body, a voice consistent with societies expectations
  35. of "good", and a team of producers able to give society what
  36. they want. 
  37.     On the other hand, Ogre stumbles through life making
  38. observations and expressing himself as he knows how with a
  39. genuine passion. Ogre sings with a voice consistent with what HE
  40. see's as the proper emotional context of the song. When Ogre's
  41. pissed, it shows through his sound AND lyrics: "murder now
  42. invigorates the unwashed bloody hands kill again" (Second Tooth,
  43. "Cleanse, Fold, ...") 
  44.     When Carey intends to show anger, it's sung
  45. is as nice a voice as possible, as clearly as possible, and
  46. with very little emotion, except what's implied through the
  47. words. For example, if she sang a nonsence line: "along the
  48. cracked in floors dripping on the floor there sits a doctor" you
  49. would have no emotional context to give the song, because one of
  50. the only ways of showing emotion in her highly stylized "pop"
  51. singing is in the lyrics. 
  52.     This is not just typical of her, but "pop" music in
  53. general. That is why Ogre cannot be compared in the same context
  54. as any "pop" singer.
