  11. I Just got off the phone with Ken Hayes of Terrapin Tapes...

  13. He Greets everyone on ALL nets with a GREAT, Happy, and
  14. SAFE New Year!!!!

  16. He also wants everyone to know that he has changed his policy
  17. about the 5% discount (AGAIN, and HOPEFULLY for the LAST TIME)
  18. that he has not been granting all people who have a userid/address/
  19. node on the net...thus, let me PARAPHRASE What he said to me about this:

  21. Basically, Ken wanted to give the 5% discount to those people who
  22. actually paid for the access to the net....well, before this 
  23. recent change, he felt that college students & people getting
  24. access via work places were NOT actually paying for access....
  25.  
  26. Well, some smart person (student?) apparently convinced him that 
  27. the students were actually paying for access indirectly via their
  28. tuitions,administrative fees, computer access fees, ...etc.  The
  29. people getting access thru work were paying their employer via
  30. some means other than monetarily to have the ~priviledge to 
  31. communicate over the net.....

  33. THUS, the following is new ~policy
  34.  
  35. Terrapin Tapes (Ken), will give a 5% discount to all people
  36. having access to net AND having a proper user_id/user_address..
  37. He will check-up on accounts from time to time (he has limited
  38. access to net, so he will check), so people better be upfront with
  39. him if they actually do have a user_id!
