- One of my XMas presents this year was a compilation of old songs
- by the Scottish band Nazareth, and I didn't know this before but
- the CD liner notes say that they "took their name from the first
- verse of Robbie Robertson's 'The Weight', a song by The Band..."
-
- Hmmm...I was way into Nazareth and The Band when I was younger but
- never knew that...
-
- (For the two or so 'heads out there who haven't at least heard the
- Dead doing "The Weight", that first verse is:
-
- "I pulled into Nazareth, I was feelin' 'bout half past dead..." )
-
- BTW, the comp includes a pretty neat "Morning Dew" from their
- _Malice in Wonderland_ LP; musically nothing like the Boys' version,
- but more folk/rockish.
